TUCON2010: Keynote - BusinessEvents 4.0 and more

Matt Quinn from TIBCO introduced / announced the latest product developments in TIBCO based around 4 themes:
- Speeds and Feeds - “handle events at internet scale”
- Universal Application Development
- Integrate People
- Deploy
First-up: TIBCO BusinessEvents 4.0 is one of the new “speeds and feeds” products. Main features are:
- Eclipse IDE
- Powerful debugger based on the Eclipse model, including remote debugging
- Multi-core, multi-threaded architecture (including the multi-threaded Rete rules engine)
- Customisable dashboards using BusinessEvents Views.
Naturally we will cover BE4 in more detail later
Other products included:
- TIBCO ActiveSpaces:
- Transactions, Patterns and Data Grid
- TIBCO FTL:
new messaging product- Extreme Low Latency messaging
- Due Winter 2010
- TIBCO Silver Suite:
part of the Deploy message: build-scale-develop for clouds. It consists of:- TIBCO Silver Fabric: construct self-service clouds
- TIBCO Silver Grid: local and external cloud scalable deployments
- TIBCO Silver CAP: develop solutions for clouds
- Product use cases for TIBCO Silver include PeopleForms, tibbr, and Silver Analytics.
- ActiveMatrix 3.0 for SOA
- Active Architecture
- Spring, Ruby, WebApp support
- TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM
- Next generation TIBCO BPM
- Model forms as PageFlows
- OpenSpace app store for process visualisations
- MobileSpace for mobile process access
- Unified with ActiveMatrix BPM
- deployable to cloud with TIBCO Silver BPM

Hi Ian - good qu - there are 2 new channels in BE4 (TCP - using catalog fns, and HTTP SOAP, a regular channel). Docs for custom channels probably didn’t make the cut… I’ll try and find out more and post something over on TIBCOmmunity.
